Reuters Slights John Lennon

Reuters ran a story about Yoko Ono on the anniversity of John Lennon's death.

The story concluded like this (emphasis added):

Mark Chapman, the obsessed Beatles fan who gunned down Lennon in 1980 outside his New York apartment, remains in jail and was denied parole for a fourth time earlier this year.

Has Reuters rethought the significance of John Lennon's murder? Does he not merit a three name killer? Most people refer to Lennon's murderer as a Mark David Chapman.

Traditionally assassins of major figures usually become known by three names—Abraham Lincoln (John Wilkes Booth), Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. (James Earl Ray), and John F. Kennedy (Lee Harvey Oswald) were killed by three named assassins.

I personally agree with Reuters for once. A musician does not merit a three named assassin.
